Informer's Solid-State Data Storage Unit (SDSU) serves as a data backup device for streaming 9-1-1 call data. The SDSU is connected at the 9-1-1 PSAP between the computer system containing the call data and the network interface equipment. For the State of California 9-1-1 Program, the SDSU serves as a device that stores the streaming Call Data Records (CDR) data being used to analyze PSAP call statistics. In the event of a network failure, the SDSU will begin buffering data until network transmission is reestablished. Once the SDSU senses that the network or host is available, the stored data will be emptied onto the network for processing. |
