Informer's Dial-Up NCM is a remote-dial-in relay card which allows a PSAP supervisor
anywhere in the building, outside, or mobile, to quickly and securely transfer
voice traffic to an alternate-answer PSAP. No additional equipment is required
at either PSAP, and traditional stationary transfer keys can coexist without modification.
The Dial-Up NCM is accessed via a standard dial-up phone connection, with user-specified
passwords and optional dial-back numbers for security. The user interface supports
standard touch-tone for entering passwords and commands, and employs voice synthesis
for prompting and status reporting.
The Dial-Up NCM would normally reside in the Tandem Central Office and be called
from either a landline or cellular phone. The relays are used to saturate the
scan points that control the transfer of voice traffic. As one card supports multiple
relays, wireless calls can be transferred separately from wireline calls.
The Dial-Up NCM is a standard WSCM 200 type board that plugs into Informer's
19-Slot and 6-Slot NCM Racks. It provides continuous and reliable operation, with
no routine maintenance required.
NOTE: The Dial-Up NCM can also be used in non-PSAP general-purpose applications,
to control low-power devices and inputs directly, or high power devices via optional
external heavy-duty relays.
